Week 1 Critique

Nikola Tamindzic "We Have All the Time in the World”

I found this photograph randomly searching online. This photographer's work automatically intrigued me. I found this particular photo interesting. Immediately when I saw this photo I had images and thoughts of Las Vegas. I have lived here over a year and still this city has so many mixed feelings for me. This photograph could have been taken in any city, outside of any hotel room, anywhere in the world. There seems to be a great isolation from the subject and the world outside. There is very little of the hotel room visible in the photo, and the subject seems almost like a ghost. Her back is almost fading into the darkness of the room. Her face is barely visible in the reflection on the window. This photograph looks as though it could be a high fashion print, or it could just be a work by an artist. The quality of the work is very clear. The lighting is perfect for this type of shot. Aesthetically I really think this photo does a great job of drawing the audience in and the tones and colors of the photo work well in creating a wonderful shot. This one photograph not only drives me to research more on this photographer, but also gives me a great deal of inspiration for future projects of my own.
